I came across this old barn on Saltspring Island which has an interesting combination of wood, brick and stone. It makes an interesting detailed shot of the various materials working together to keep the barn standing.

While eating lunch while taking a course at Montgomery Park in Portland Oregon I took photographs the first couple of days. That is until Security told me that I was no longer to take photographs anywhere in or around the building in case I was planning a terrorist attack. I really think we all need to lighten up a bit.

This is a photo of the freshly painted stalls at the Kelowna Riding Club in the spring.
This photo I took in Europe back in 1991 but I don’t even remember what country it was in. I think it was in France. I guess it’s more about the person than about the location anyway.
This shot of the Mukilteo Lighthouse is from the waterside looking back towards the town. The morning fog was just lifting to reveal the sun which made for some very unique lighting.
If you are ever in Washington near Everett, make sure that you visit Mukilteo and Whidbey Island.
This one was also taken in Puerto Vallarta at our hotel while I was waiting for my wife to email the kids. I never mind waiting when I have my camera along. That’s when I often find stuff to shoot.
Not much to this photograph. I just liked the way the sun was falling across the door and the fact that one rarely sees this color.
If you are ever driving down highway 3 in southern BC make sure to plan to stop in Greenwood. It’s not a very big town but it has some neat old buildings, a coffee shop and of course the bright red fire station. This is a shot of an old pharmacy sign that I loved the vintage look of.
I am in the process of scanning some of my old photos from days gone by… Here is one of a mini on a cool cobblestone street. I can’t actually remember where I took this one.
This is an old photograph taken in Bordeaux, France in 1991. Being from western Canada, where no buildings are more than about 50 years old, the old buildings and doors of Europe are of great interest to photograph. This one was extra special because of the junk mail stuffed into the slot.
