Rialto Beach
My family and I took a trip out to the Washington coast and ended up at Rialto Beach. The sky was so amazing. As usual the picture doesn’t do justice to the actual scene.
Irrigation
I drove by this turf farm for weeks thinking “one of these days I need to stop and get a shot of the sun setting behind the sprinklers.” I finally stopped on this one particular evening and I am very happy with the result.
Fencepost – Kalamalka Lake
My family and I went for a bit of a drive last weekend up the valley to see the beautiful fall colors. It was a good thing we did because the next day the temperature dropped to -10 C and now all the leaves are brown. This photo is for my wife. She just loves pictures with rows of various colors kind of like this one.
Old Faithful
Although Old Faithful is pretty reliable the lighting is not always what you are hoping for. I sat with my daughter and waited for Old Faithful to erupt with the sky completely clouded over threatening to rain and totally flat light. I decided to put on a neutral density filter to allow for a longer exposure time to see if the water would look cooler “in motion”. Then to my surprise a beam of light shone through the clouds onto the geyser and lighted it just at the right time.
Windy Day in the Okanagan
This photograph was taken on a very windy spring day from Waterfront Park in Kelowna on Okanagan Lake. I had to use neutral density filters to allow for a long enough exposure to catch the trees looking windblown. I love the rich colors.
Bubbles
My wife and I got away to Mexico for our 10th anniversary. We have actually been married 15 years but it took us the extra 5 years to actually get away. We planned on going in year 12 but 2 days after booking the trip I broke my ankle so we ended up canceling. It was well worth the wait. This photo is looking down at the surface of the water of the hotel pool with the great blue tile.
