Don’t Peek
I have always tried to teach my children to be safe. One of the things that I taught them was no matter how tempting it is to peek through a knot hole in a fence or a building to resist the urge. You never know when there might be a person standing on the other side waiting to poke their finger in your eye. Safety first!
Mini Mushroom
There are so many amazing things to see if you pay attention. This mushroom growing on a bed of moss is only about 5 millimeters across and would be easy to miss if you are walking too quickly.
Kelowna Riding Club
This is a photo of the freshly painted stalls at the Kelowna Riding Club in the spring.
Brook – (A River Runs Through It)
This creek in the valley in Montana where “A River Runs Through It” was filmed. It is a beautiful area with plenty of trout fishing.
Akaka Falls – Hawaii
If you ever make it to the Big Island of Hawaii make sure you visit Akaka Falls. We spent a day and drove around the island when we were staying in Kona and we were passing the turnoff to Akaka Falls right as the sun was starting to set. It had been a long day so we nearly passed on the falls but made a last minute decision to stop. It was definitely worth it. It is a very beautiful falls that is over 400 feet tall. Wow.
Parker Ranch
Parker Ranch is one of the largest cattle ranches in the United States. This is surprising since it is on the island of Hawaii in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. This is a shot across a small section of the ranch looking down towards the water although you cannot see the water due to haze.
Punch Bug Green (no return)
I have seen this Beetle around town a few times and have wanted to take a picture of it. One day by the beach I got my chance and while I was taking my picture the owner came by with a big smile on his face obviously proud of his vehicle.
I must admit that I changed the color of the car slightly to a green that I like more.
Pisa Baptistery
This is a very old shot I took in Pisa, Italy at night. The exposure, if my memory serves me correctly, was close to a minute. Although the sky looked pretty much black to me, the film picked up the true color of the sky if our eyes were more sensitive.
