Mount Baker

When I was in Abbotsford a couple of months ago I took this shot of Mount Baker as the sun was setting.  What a beautiful and scary mountain.

Metropolitan

This is a cool car that I have seen driving around town.  I finally caught it parked in a spot not too bad for a photo.

Metropolitan

I like this one in both color and black and white.  If you’re interested, I think it’s a 1957 Nash Metropolitan.  I like the crop tight on this because it accentuates how crowded it must feel like to drive in one.

Mount Saint Helens

I grew up in central Alberta.  In 1980 I was 11 years old so I didn’t really understand the significance of the eruption of Mount Saint Helens.  My wife and I tried to visit there in about 1998 but there was low fog and rain so we just had to imagine what it would look like.  Last week we decided to meet some friends there and ended up seeing it on a gloriously sunny day and here are a couple of the shots from that day.

Aircraft Photos

Here are some photos of some of the Aircraft at the Abbotsford Airshow.  The first two are of a Russian Mig-17 (also known as a Fresco).

This next group shows an F-18 Hornet in various maneuvers.  I think it looks cool the way the third image is blurred due to the heat of the exhaust.

The final photo is of a Boeing C17 Globemaster taking off in a very steep climb.

I don’t even remember where I took this photo but I know it was in Europe in 1992 and it was taken with Kodak ISO 3200 black and white film.  It’s not too grainy considering the low light, fast film, and scanned negative.

Evolution (of the species)

Do we really know as much as we think we know?

My daughter had a volleyball practice outside at City Park on Sunday because the gym that they normally practice in was booked.  The rest of the fam dropped her off so we could walk around down at the lake since it was a beautiful evening.  These photos are of a very interesting sculpture that has been on the Kelowna waterfront for years.  It looks as if it has been recently painted.

Eclipse

As you can tell from this latest post, it is springtime in Kelowna.  It doesn’t get much better than sunshine, tulips and peach blossoms.

Apple Orchard

I have lived in a region of Canada that grows a lot of apples for over 10 years now.  I often try to get a good photograph of an apple orchard and no matter how hard I try I cannot seem to get a great photo of one.  This one is alright.

Montgomery Park #2

Thursday, April 15th, 2010 Color Photographs, Photographs 1 Comment

While eating lunch while taking a course at Montgomery Park in Portland Oregon I took photographs the first couple of days.  That is until Security told me that I was no longer to take photographs anywhere in or around the building in case I was planning a terrorist attack.  I really think we all need to lighten up a bit.
